The Christian Scholars Program

Christian Scholars Program

Three realities are intertwined in the monastic life, both in its essence and in its outreach for the sake of the world:

the love of learning,
the desire for God,
commitment to beauty.

It is grounded in all three of these realities, with special emphasis on the love of learning. We honor scholarship as a sacred ministry.

The Emmanuel Mission
The Emmanuel Mission - An outreach ministry for women and children in need.

An example of those we help: Since 1982 civil unrest, drug lords, and corrupt governmental agencies in Mexico and Guatemala have systematically exterminated or displaced over 500,000 people of Indian decent in Mexico & Central America, killing or enslaving over 30,000 women & children in the process. Fortunately a few have found refuge in Indliantown in Martin County. Unfortunately many are homeless, forced into labor camps, or worse, sold as sexual slaves in the underground sex slave markets locally and throughout the United States.

Purpose: To provide spiritual, emotional, economic and physical support for these women and children by developing and staffing multi-purpose facilities that would provide access to a network of churches, medical clinics, schools and housing.

Goal: To provide a means to reach these special people spiritually, emotionally and physically while preparing them to become independent and self-sufficient members of their community. This would be accomplished by providing them spiritual support as well as food, shelter & medical care.

The Order of St. Alcuin (OSA)

The Great Commission

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you"

Matthew 28:19-20

Alcuin of York, Deacon, Abbot, Christian Scholar

The Order of Saint Alcuin presents an objective form of life, strong, unchanging from year to year, a life of work, study and liturgical prayer which can be seen and heard, lived in conditions which aim at representing all that is best in Christian family life, sisters and brothers living and serving God in the world, for all to see, with all the non-Christian elements removed.
